ABOUT 5TH AXIS

5th Axis President and founder Douglas Poscich earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University's College of Engineering in 1991. He went on to become Chief Mechanical Engineer for Farrel Corporation in Ansonia, Connecticut; Senior Design Engineer for Moore Tool Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut; worked on projects at Los Alamos National Laboratories in Los Alamos, New Mexico; and Director of Research & Development, Product testing for Burton Snowboards in Burlington, Vermont.

Leveraging this experience, Douglas opened 5th Axis in 2006.  Since then, the Company has developed strong partnerships with General Dynamics' Electric Boat Corporation and Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding in their efforts to produce the U.S. Navy's Virginia Class Attack Submarine - the most complex engineering project in existence today.

Douglas holds multiple patents for a variety of innovative machine designs and consumer goods and is certified in ISO 9000 Internal Auditor, ISO QS9001 and TQM.
